Maple syrup, sesame seeds, sumac, and cayenne pepper create layers of flavor in this Whole Foood Plant Based (WFPB) snack

Ingredients
  

  • 3 c walnuts
  • 1/4 c white sesame seeds
  • 1/4 c maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp sumac can sub lemon zest
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric (optional)
  • salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325
  • Toss walnuts with olive oil and maple syrup
  • Sprinkle spiced and sesame seeds, mix well
  • Roast in the oven for 15 minutes or until carmelized, being careful not to burn them.
